Childcare Resources

One of the biggest challenges working parents face is finding quality childcare centers. We encourage families to explore Quality Rated, a reliable tool provided by Georgia’s Department of Early Care & Learning, to help find childcare programs that meet or exceed state requirements.

Are You Looking for Quality Childcare?

Quality Rated is Georgia’s statewide system for evaluating and improving childcare programs. Similar to rating systems for hotels and restaurants, Quality Rated assigns one, two, or three stars to early learning and school-age programs that go beyond basic state requirements.

These independent ratings, conducted by credentialed early childhood experts, help parents choose high-quality childcare with confidence, knowing each program has been assessed for safety, learning environments, and best practices.

Our local YMCA’s (JM Tull YMCA and Fowler YMCA) offer after school programs and childcare services on days when school is out. They also have some conditional scholarship programs available for families in need that might make this an ideal option for your family.

The YMCA’s serve students attending these schools: Benefield, Cooper, Lovin, Mulberry, Cedar Hill, Craig, Jenkins, Lawrenceville, Pharr, Simonton, Starling, Winn Holt, Graves, Nesbit, Stripling, Berkeley Lake, Peachtree and Simonton.
