Health access in Gwinnett County
Everyone in Gwinnett deserves access to care, clear information, and the support they need to stay healthy, recognizing that health is more than the absence of illness. It includes mental, physical, and social well-being, all of which are essential to thriving. No matter what their background, income, or language, all residents should have equitable access to the resources and opportunities that support their overall health.
In collaboration with trusted community partners, we provide culturally relevant health education and connect under- and uninsured residents to the resources they need.
Challenges to health access in Gwinnett County
Gwinnett County’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths, but too many residents continue to encounter significant barriers to accessing care.
- 2% of residents are uninsured, limiting access to routine and preventive care
- Health outcomes vary widely across communities and neighborhoods
- Language barriers and limited health literacy complicate residents’ ability to navigate a complex healthcare system
- Many residents rely on emergency care because they lack access to primary and preventive services
When people don’t know where to go or can’t access care, small health issues can become bigger health problems.
What we do
We connect residents to the knowledge, care, and resources they need to thrive. We do this by:
- Delivering health literacy workshops in English and Spanish
- Serving as Gwinnett County’s
- Building and cultivating partnerships to expand access to health care
- Sharing culturally relevant health information and resources through trusted spaces like churches, food pantries, health fairs, and community events
- Providing health literacy coaching to help residents understand preventive services and healthcare options
Health education that works
We provide bilingual, culturally relevant workshops that help people understand and manage their health physically, mentally, and socially. These sessions are interactive, practical, and led by trusted community voices.

Access to care
Georgia Access is Georgia’s official health insurance marketplace. It’s where individuals and families can compare plans and enroll in quality, affordable health coverage.
Powered by partnership
This work only happens through strong collaboration.
