Building a Resilient Gwinnett

The Gwinnett Coalition is excited to invite any and all organizations serving children in our community to join as a partner in the new Resilient Gwinnett initiative. The Gwinnett Coalition recently received a grant through Resilient Georgia to build upon the critical work of preventing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by:

  • Building awareness and a common understanding about adversity and resilience in our community.
  • Promoting trauma-informed practices across all systems and sectors.
  • Empowering our community with critical training to help support a Resilient Gwinnett.

Our local initiative is called Resilient Gwinnett. As a partner, your organization will be directly involved with building awareness and systems change by inviting your team members to participate in trauma-informed trainings and ACEs prevention trainings including:

  1. Stewards of Children
  2. Mental Health First Aid
  3. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR)
  4. Connections Matter
  5. Mandated Reporter Training

These trainings will be offered throughout Gwinnett County. As a partner organization, you will be able to customize your training needs. Our trainers can come on-site to train your team and/or individuals served, or we can connect you to virtual programming. We recognize you may already have team members who are offering these trainings. Resilient Gwinnett aims to build upon the excellent work already taking place throughout our community. Please take a moment to let us know about your existing capacity by completing this brief training survey.

Please reply to Jennifer.Hibbard@vphealth.org to confirm your willingness to serve as a partner organization. Additionally, become a Changemaker by signing up for the Gwinnett Coalition Exchange to stay informed with a weekly digest of community news. We look forward to working with you to expand our resources and collective impact to prevent childhood trauma.
