Invest in Gwinnett Coalition. Multiply Impact.

Gwinnett County is home to over 1 million people and is one of the most culturally diverse counties in the nation. When it comes to quality of life, however, barriers accessing physical and mental and behavioral health services with some communities hinder man residents from achieving optimal well-being.

For thirty-five years, Gwinnett Coalition has brought leaders and citizens together to address complex human services issues. As challenges increase within our communities, we must evolve our approach and work collectively to create meaningful and lasting change.

The challenges are complex. So is our response.

Guided by three strategic pillars—health equity, mental and behavioral health, and nonprofit capacity building—we work collaboratively and as a cross-sector coalition to lead systems change.

Health Equity

Through our health literacy education and resource model, we advance health equity in Gwinnett County. Our evidence-informed health literacy workshops focus on mental, physical, and social aspects of health, connecting preventative care to well-being. In collaboration with local nonprofits and agencies, we connect uninsured and underinsured residents to essential resources and affordable care.

Mental and Behavioral Health

Our flagship program, Resilient Gwinnett, builds resilient communities by fostering a shared understanding of adversity and resilience, promoting trauma-informed approaches, and advocating for policy and systems change. With a targeted focus to prevent adverse childhood experiences, promote positive childhood experiences, and encourage others to practice trauma-informed care, our work benefits youth and young adults ages 0-26.

Nonprofit Capacity Building

Nonprofit capacity building is at the heart of improving community health and well-being. Strong nonprofits lead to better services and support for those in need, directly impacting the quality of life in our communities. Our signature initiative, Gwinnett Nonprofit Coalition, equips nonprofit leaders with skills and knowledge to help strengthen their organizations while fostering collaboration across the nonprofit ecosystem.
